Self-Flowing Lumber Treatment Technology: Revolutionizing Wood Treatment and Preservation

Inspired by the fluid transport that occurs during tree growth, our Self-Flowing Technology mimics the natural transpiration process that allows trees to thrive. Lumber is placed in a treatment tank vertically. Liquid chemicals (i.e., preservatives, fire retardants, or reactive agents) are drawn under capillary force and pressure differences inside the lumber. The excess chemical through the lumber is transported to overflow tank through a specialized absorbent.

Current wood treatment is mainly through vacuum pressure and/or immersion methods, which is highly relying on the permeability and treatability of wood species. It is hard to achieve uniform treatment due to the complexity of solid wood's composition and structure. The novel self-flowing treatment provide:

  • Full chemical treatment penetration of lumber,

  • Minimum capital investment with no complicated equipment,

  • More than 75% energy saving,

  • Applicability to wood, bamboo, and other porous materials

  • Ideal for solid wood delignification for emerging products, such as densified wood, transparent wood, and etc.
